Unbeatable Location with Room for Improvement

The Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel enjoys one of the most perfect locations in the city, right on the riverfront with truly breathtaking views—without doubt its greatest highlight. Waking up to the scenery of the Douro was a memorable experience. While the setting is outstanding, the rooms felt somewhat dated and could benefit from updates to match the hotel’s prestigious reputation. In addition, we found the staff, more specifically manager, to be less warm and welcoming compared to other hotels of a similar class, which was a little surprising given the brand’s usual high standards. Overall, it is a beautiful property with incredible surroundings, but with some improvements in service and room modernization, it could become as remarkable inside as the view it offers outside.

Quiet room - great location!

My room was spacious and quiet despite being located in one of the busiest parts of town. Love the soundproof double pane windows! Also, there were lots of wonderful little extras from a service standpoint, including turndown service. The only problem was that the AC randomly turned off in the middle of the night, so I had to get up and turn it back on again. Breakfast spread was incredibly good.
