Stopover in Abbeville

Stopover hotel on way back to UK - only an hour away from Calais. Rooms are compact but clean and comfortable. Had supper that evening and choices were good and food a little better than expected - overall a good dining experience.

A simple but classy hotel

This is a simple, efficient, friendly and well-run hotel. Also has an excellent restaurant for a hotel of this size. In fact I literally just stayed at the Ibis Styles Châtelaillon-Plage which has a spa, a pool and is near the beach - a nice hotel too, but its restaurant really is pricey and mediocre. The Ibis Abbeville, supposedly a lower standard absolutely beats it hands down with regard to service and its restaurant.

First stop en route to Portugal

Lovely hotel, well situated away from the main road. Found it very easily. Great service at reception, a nice room and lovely food in the restaurant. Nice breakfast and easy checkout. Only negative is the room was a bit cold, but the time of year (January) and outside temperature probably didn't help. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was very small hence not easy to move around, towels are very thin, no drinks facilities in the room and although I complained about the heating not being on in the room no-one went to the room to sort it out. It was very cold outside and inside all night! A convenient hotel for one night with free parking.

Cockroach in the bathroom, black hairs on the table and in the menu. Spot of blood on the bedsheets. Just stayed for a short stopover so wanted somewhere clean and basic for the night but would not recommend. Behind a rundown hospital. 1* hotel definitely not 3*.

There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. They was no water machines to take into your room. Bed was very comfortable but the room was incredibly basic. Ground floor rooms were completely different and worth 3 stars but not the top floor. The food was amazing though

Rooms Cold and Heating System Poor

While I absolutely understand the need to reduce energy wastage for both environmental and financial reasons the new heating system installed at this hotel is just not fit for purpose. The system is designed to switch off the room heating off when it it doesn't detect movement in the room (ie the room may be empty). This sounds a great idea but unfortunately when you arrive late and its bitterly cold outside the room is equally cold when you enter. Yes the heating comes and it warms slightly but, say you then go down to the restaurant for a meal...yep the heating goes off so once again you return to a cold room. Then you go you bed (to keep warm) and guess what the heater doesn't detect any movement so shuts off. Now I get the need to reduce global warming but there must be a better way to control heating than what is a pretty crude and simplistic motion sensor on a electric radiator under the desk. For the price of the room I do expect to be warm.

Seule chambre PMR située tout au bout d’un couloir qui ne facilite son accès ; elle n’est pas assez adaptée : difficile d’y entrer sans manœuvre, impossible d’accéder aux sanitaires avec un fauteuil roulant, porte et es pas trop étroits, douche abîmée au sol et avec une assise qui ne répond pas à une personne qui manque d’équilibre et qui a besoin d’ aide pour se lever (bras au fauteuil) confort obsolète, moquette au sol ce qui n’est pas hygiénique… je m’attendais à mieux dans un hôtel 3 étoiles ! Par ailleurs comme il me fut dit, je doute que cette chambre ait été rénovée comme les autres chambres que j’ai aperçues durant leur entretien. En conclusion, je pense que les personnes en situation de handicap ne sont pas une priorité mais une obligation liée au contrat du groupe accord !!!

Personnel très sympa, restaurant super (diner et petit-dejeuner) très bonne literie, hotel au calme, grand parking. Par contre messieurs les concepteurs de ces catégories d'hotels prenez exemple sur nos amis Italiens ou espagnols et arretez de nous fournir des cagibis comme salle de bains.
