Front Desk staff Iris (5 star). Money bar area staff mixed some horrible whom don't check on you. No phone in room to call front desk to get more towels (only had 2 for 4 people). The all inclusive food was ok but nothing great. Regarding the outdoor /nature this is always great but hotel is a bit isolated and they don't even have an ATM ..... No icemachines

Very nice vacation spot with plenty to explore: nature, Panama Canal, and local culture. We just booked a 2nd night because we are really liking it.

This resort is beautiful! While it isn’t the newest in the area it does have incredible views, extremely friendly staff, good food & drinks, and spacious rooms. They help with tours of the area and provide a free nighttime wildlife tour that is 25 minutes long. This is a must see & stay in Panama.

Had a great trip, traveled with my son and daughter (12 and 9) We loved all the excursions we were able to book/take right from the lobby. Some areas of the facility need a little TLC/maintenance upgrades, but certainly can't beat the views from the balcony's. SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!

Great Experience

Great time in family. Options of activities are amazing for visitors from countries without Tropical Forest. We saw monkeys, sloths, butterflies, more than 15 different birds, ñeques, gato solo. Quality food in Buffet- good Price on cocktails - high but understandable. This is a family oriented hotel. Pet Friendly - amazing for families that enjoy stay with their pets been responsibles with them. It is a wild area so pets cant be without their leash. The viem of pool with lake view in the back is stunning. Rooms are big. It is missing repair and clean of some areas because of high humidity but usable areas are ok. The more impressive are the big windows in the lobby

The location is Great ! The food is very expensive..if you stay here you don’t have any alternative you have eat the hotel food. The hotel does not even provide tooth paste. They will only give you 2 towels…it is very human and hot…so you will need more than one shower…but you will get only one towel per day per person. The room floors are oily and slippery…and the room smells a little…you will need a few hours to get used to it. Beware of mosquitos …you can’t stay out after dark…they will eat you alive!!

An old elegant building which is aged but they are doing work on it.

Very nice property, service a little slow but everyone was so nice!

10/10 Exceptional

The most amazing thing about this property was that is located in the middle of a National Park and all the surrounding scenery was spectacular. The rooms have wonderful views of the River and in the morning when you wake up and get out on the balcony you can enjoy your coffee while watching and hearing lovely and colorful birds or even spotting other wildlife (eg agouti, sloths, etc). Another fabulous thin about this hotel where all the extracurricular activities available from the Hotel. The staff from the Tour desk were very helpful to coordinate visits to the trails, or the boat tour or cable car, bird watching hikes, night safari... So really you could spend several days and just enjoy the nature nearby. The only thing that could be improved would be to add a spa/sauna/massage and a gym to completely round up the relaxing experience.

6/10 Good

The resort area and view is very beautiful. I'd say the hotel condition is still solid 3 star hotel. It's a bit dated but not too bad. The hotel lobby is grand and beautiful and well maintained. Lots of activities to keep you busy. The resort staff are very nice and hard working and mostly speak good English. The tour guides, boat and truck drivers are working very hard to give you best experience and are very pleasant people. Monday is off for all excursions (except the free night tour) so plan accordingly. I like that there is a dehumidifier in the room so the humidity was improved by that. The room is very clean. However the pillows and blanket were not clean or might not been washed after previous guests. They were stinky and smelled like someone's sweat, very gross. The food is very good although they are all buffets. The hotel is busy with lots of day guests. It seems very popular with families of young kids.

4/10 Fair

Not 5 star (as posted, at least in Google Maps). The receptionists did not acknowledge us at first, then gave a rude waving of the hand when they were finally ready. The receptionist gave us bad directions to our rooms and gave us no information on what was available at the resort (tours, food, services, etc.). Tour desk was absolutely rude. There were three of them and they never looked up. We asked about the aerial tram and she asked for a name and then expected that to be the end of the conversation. A/c in one room didn’t work well. The rooms are outdated. No information on any services present in the room. We weren’t informed about the complimentary night safari and then when we asked if we could join, we were told that it was full. At least then we were told to show up and see if there are any no shows. There was no evidence of concierge. It was nice that our rooms were next to each other but it was weird that only one of the rooms had a door that locked between the two rooms. One room had a dehumidifier, but not the other. Found a dried contact on the toilet paper.

Rainforest gem close to Panama City

This resort is practically in the city, yet is set in a beautiful rainforest. The river view from the balcony and the toucans overhead truly made it feel remote. While the grounds could use some work, the main building has the charm of a historic inn with its large windows providing sun for the plants surrounding an indoor waterfall. The extensive breakfst buffet was good and the pool quite large. Some tips: there is absolutely no information given and if you don't know the right questions to ask you will never discover the trails on the property, that you can rent kayaks, or where the tour booth is ( since no one is in the lobby tour booth.) Also note that this resort has a day use rate for local families coming from the city on weekends. It was more crowded but not a problem. A free "night tour" is offered to all guests where a noisy deisel safari truck picks you up at the front door and roars down the lane with the guide shining his light to find the wildlife that all ran and hid. Another quirky thing was the rhythmic drum beat at 6:30 AM on Saturday that the timekeeper in the boat on the river uses to keep the rowing team in sync. This is a fabulous place for bird watching as well as Pipeline Road which is close by. Don't forget your binoculars like I did. The weekend dinner buffet was good at $22pp but the only other place for dinner on the property was the bar with pretty high prices. There is a small grocer and local restaurant a 10 minute drive away in Gamboa.

Muito bom exceto valores de alimentação

Tudo muito bom. Exceto os valores das refeições que achei muito altos em relação ao buffet que é oferecido.

Breakfast buffet is well stocked and has lots of ‘opciones criollas’.We were not impressed with dining options at either restaurant, beyond breakfast. There’s ample opportunity for improvement for the staff, when it comes to interacting with the guests - both at the check-in counter and the activity and excursion desk.

9/10 for adventure and views

I am I love with this place. The landscaping and views are phenomenal! Buffet lunch was great! But dinner was lacking. Poolside food was excellent as was the cafe. Hammock on my patio was peaceful. It’s very well kept with some minor issues and a little dated but I strongly recommend!
Eve, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Pool is nice. However a bit slow the pool bar. Good food a la carte. Did not try yet buffet. Noisy A/C in the room, although it does the job. Reserved for 3 but room prepared for 2. Room is clean. Overall Good.
Radu, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Upon check-in, we were offered the gamboa package which includes 3 buffet meals per day and 3 tour packages during the stay. After consideration the individual cost of these items- buffet meals, and the 2 tours we wanted to do anyways- we agreed to the cost of the package. However, we were stopped in the lobby and asked if we wanted to continue the package. So rather than the $700 quoted price for the duration of our stay, it only covered 2 nights. This is plain deception and thievery. They sold us on the duration of the stay, and surpised us that it actually was only for our first 2 nights. We left, refusing to patronize the hotel any further, depsite having already had paid for the remainder of our stay. Management refused to rectify the problem their staff caused.
