I didn’t stay there. Showed up a little bit early and no one was there or answered phone. The place looked abandoned and a for sale sign out front. It was New Year’s Day though. Expedia tried putting up in a nearby hotel with broken out windows and a junk car in parking lot. No thanks. Kept driving to Stanley.

Shower was either scalding hot or ice cold! Made a reservation for a room with two dbl beds. Paid for it. On arrival was told none were available. My reservation confirmation said otherwise. We were able to compromise and stayed in separate rooms. You need to visit your properties!

Nice value

Comfortable, clean and affordable. Towels need to be added for a two person stay in one room. Would stay here again.

Older motel but the bed was comfortable the water was hot the pressure was great. Chris at check-in was very friendly. TV didn’t work properly but Chris tried to fix it. It was late so it ended up being ok to not have television. We appreciate the pet friendly aspect. The bar/restaurant was lovely. The remodel is beautiful.

I really can't leave any kind of review being i traveled 500 miles and missed their 10:00 check in. I had to find lodging elsewhere.

The shower curtain was filthy. The sink had hair in it. The corner of the bathroom has a cobweb and a spider in it. The air conditioner worked great!!! It was nice to be able to sit outside and take the table and chairs out. The new restaurant was nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

8/10 Very good

Great stay for a cheaper motorcycle trip. Like being able to park right outside my rood. Property is older and worn, but clean. Owners are making an obvious effort to update. New restaurant and bar is being built to replace what was lost in recent fire. Check-in was at the current small bar adjacent to the rooms. Bartender was very efficient and personal. She’s a good advocate for the community. Would stay again.

I didnt like that there was someone in my room after i already checked in. Went fishing came back and there was a guy sitting on the bed. Apparently they gave him the wrong key.

Challis, ID doesn't have many choices when it comes to hotels/motels.The Roadhouse Inn has rooms on the same level as other local properties. I wanted to love it...but i dont. The sheets need to be updated; same for the towels and pillows. Id bring my own and sleep in my own sleeping bag. With that said. The staff is amaizing. They wanted to be sure we were comfortable. BIg smiles and very accomodating.

This was the worst place possible. The bed springs were old and dirty and broken. The mattress was so soft there was absolutely no support. I was supposed to stay two nights but didn’t get any sleep the first night so I left.
Denise, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Blinds were broken and did not cover whole window, rugs badly worn, walls in bad shape(scratches all over, marked up), bathroom walls badly caulked, toilet seat about 150 yrs old, entire place needs a MAJOR workover. Pizza place has no pizza, bar only.
FRANK, 1-night trip

rooms need updating linensvery worn, light bulbs burned out, maintenance is much needed. TV and WIFI not working no one would come and help to busy with bar in restaurant. I guess too short of help to cover bases. Promised to help after three calls be there in minute but never showed. We have stayed here three times over the years but will not be back. New remodel on bar and restaurant very nice.
CONSTANCE, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Pictures online are misleasing. A/C Unit was from the 70's and barely worked. Literally a trash dump outside my bathroom window. Beds were wobbly. Window blinds had several holes/tears so privacy was at a minimum.

This property is rebuilding its office and restaurant/bar after a fire. Apparently their phone was missing which caused me a bit of a snafu upon realizing in fine print that checkin was limited to 4-9 and I was 1 1/2 hours away eating. I was not able to raise them at the given phone number but Expedia eventually was and the bartender (makeshift converted room) stayed late at 10:15 to check me in (appreciated). This is a rustic older property recovering from calamity at an inexpensive price. Room was dated and worn, seemed to be grit (sand and ????) on the sheet under the bed spread, 6 dead moths on floor in bathroom but no bugs otherwise. Comfortable enough, except for firm tall foam pillows, for a quick night’s sleep. I would not stay again under current conditions, but they are a mom & pop place going through a mptough time.

Challis Roadhouse Disappointment

Highly suggest taking this Motel off your list of options. There was on signage where to check in. Went to the adjoining restaurant to check in. The Bartender Kris, was great. He was probably the only good thing about this Challis Roadhouse. We were with another couple. The food we ordered from Kris was good and he was very attentive to the 4 of us. The rooms were just ok. Very old and smelly. Water pressure in shower was minimal. We went back to the restaurant for dinner the next day. That had a band, therefore they were charging a $5 cover charge. Not a big deal. We found a table sat down and was there for a good 10 minutes. There was a waitress that was going to all tables around us, but didn’t stop. Was it because we weren’t locals? Who knows. One of us went and ordered our drinks at the bar. Finally, the one waitress stopped to ask if we needed food… if so they were sold out of everything but hamburgers, hot wings and chicken strips. She said she would come back but didn’t. Kris walked by, and we told him we just wanted 4 burgers, make it easy for them. Ordered another round of beers and they came in Red Solos cups. WTH! Fine, whatever. The owners were there partying it up with friends and locals and were Bustling a few tables, my husband and one of our friends got up to help them. Not a thank you, nothing. We got our food. 2 of the burgers were burnt, and all of our fries were oil soaked. We left. About 30 minutes later the owner was on the side, motel side peeing.
