Clean, good breakfast , odd smell

Room was clean, the breakfast was really good. Staff was polite. Quick checkout process. Weird smell in the hall way, the ice machine was running ,water just pouring straight down the drain. The elevator shakes the floor slightly, I have vertigo and so other might not notice but was enough to trigger an attack. Also asked about a late check out and said sure ; half a night's stay cost for 1 hour, which to me is insane(I declined), did one the day before with Hyatt and 0 dollars for 1 hour.

Very average hotel. Room is comfortable, but fitness room was lacking. Continental breakfast was very basic. It is, however, very close to the dining options in Alamogordo and if you don't have a car, it is preferable to be close.
