Great location in central Stockholm.

The Scandic Continental is very well located near the train station and the subway. We have stayed at this hotel several time and always enjoyed our stay. We always look forward to the breakfast, but it can be crowded and not as enjoyable as it should.

Great family stay

Breakfast was wonderful. They said at the desk that it opened every day at 6:30, but it is actually 7 am on weekends. Loved that we could choose to have our room cleaned or not, and just get fresh towels when we needed them. Great view of city hall, loved the sun deck as a quiet place to rest.

We did not eat at the Hotel. The bed was comfortable, the internet access was good and access to the train and Arlanda express was great! Also the hotel was very quiet and we have a lovely view out of our room.

Hidden room categories and no air-condition

The hotel advertises 3 categories of rooms (standard, supreme and suite). Of these 3 advertised rooms only the standard has 'city view only in some rooms' and the rest quarantee a city view. We booked supreme plus and got a room right on top of the club with a window facing inside the hotel. The music was disturbing even in the afternoon with moderate volume and we had a small child with us. Front desk explained that there were in fact 5 categories and supreme plus does not have the view. However they were kind enough to move us to a room with a view but did not mention that it was a little smaller room without the bath tub. Also would not recommend booking any room from this hotel if the weather is hot. The hotel does not have AC!! Only ventilation and small desk fans. With 28 degrees celcius we slept very poorly in the small hot room. Nice looking hotel with very good location but very bad experience. Staff was very friendly and nice!

Good sound-insulation, convenient location but...

I'll go through the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good was that the hotel is across the street from the train station, T-Centralen, with direct subway access next door to the building and close access to the Arlanda Express Train to the airport, making this convenient to get in/out of Stockholm. The location is excellent for shopping and walking to Gamla Stan. You are across the street from a major department store Åhlens (similar to Macy's) and the pedestrian shopping street Drottningatan. Several eateries are a short walk. Even though it's a busy area, it was quite well sound-insulated. The breakfast buffet is both huge and varied including English/American breakfast with eggs and bacon (and even Swedish meatballs!) and the Nordic style (sandwiches) with plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, and veggies, but this is typical of Swedish hotels. The bad is that the room decor isn't very pleasant since the trend seems to be dark grey walls and a dreary color scheme. Also the beds were NOT comfortable, they were lumpy and firm. Since it was July, it was unusually warm, and the thermostat didn't really give good A/C. Apparently, most agreed because all the fans were taken. Another little complaint was the non-existent plastic bags in the waste bins. There was 1 tiny one in the corner of the room. I understand that they're trying to be eco-friendly, but it didn't feel so sanitary as our trash piled up.
