Great Lodging!

The Blue Bird Inn in Fort Nelson is a great place to lodge. Their rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. Plus, it’s right off of the Alaska Highway and has a gas station on the property and a small conscience store too. The staff are friendly and know the area well.

Good spot for the night... The good: Kitchenette, Close to shop, restaurants, quiet, good shower. The bad: We were in the back and the back alley seems pretty sketchy and full of garbage. The coffee machine doesn't come filters or coffee. The Really bad: There was a couple questionable stains on the mattress. The In-between: The bed has a memory foam that is too soft, my body hurt the next day.

A very good option to stay at in Ft Nelson if you are doing a quick stop and go. The room was more than adequate for what I required. Front staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will continue to use this property for my trips.

The room was clean but dated. Not an issue for me. I needed a comfortable bed for the night and I wasn’t disappointed. Slept really well. The Inn isn’t five star and you don’t pay for that either. If you need a decent, safe, quiet place for the night, you can rest easy here.

If you’re looking for fancy and pampered, keep looking. This is a functional room with a full kitchenette, nearby convenience store and hot water. It reminds me of my grandmothers house. Things have been around a while but they work fine. I liked I could park right outside my door, I liked the gentleman who checked me in, so very nice and it was at an economical price point. If I were to make a suggestion, it would be for more hooks in the bathroom to hang my toiletry bag and such.

I would not stay here again. The room was relatively clean but extremely dated and smelled like a cheap car freshener was being shoved directly in your nose. The area was not safe to the point where we wedged a chair under the door to feel secure enough to sleep. The building is attached to a run down gas station with doors facing out into the gas station parking lot. There are way better options for only slightly more money. Go elsewhere.
