Close enough to walk downtown, easy enough to take a taxi if your lazy. The pool was a welcome relaxation for myself as well as my toddler, breakfast was worth it in my opinion and the rooms were spacious and welcoming !

My 1 night stay at The Ardilaun Hotel was very good. Although my check-in was slightly delayed, my room was well sanatised with complimentary water supplied. The breakfast was excellent. Overall I would rate this hotel very highly.

They do not have king beds only queens they call kings and you have to wear a bathing cap to be able to swim in the pool. Other than that we had a good stay enjoying breakfast and a nice long walk into the heart of Galway.

Grand Old Dame

This is a quaint old fashioned hotel with lovely bones. You could imagine some international group investing hugely into the fabric that covers those bones. If it happens, I hope they don't destroy it! The location is brilliant, settling near town in a lovely district of Galway. The breakfast is a steal at €10. The rooms need a refresh but they are grand. Strongly recommended.

A little farther out of Galway than I realized when booking. There was some kind of teenagers party going on that evening. When my husband and I stopped by the bar for a nightcap, the staff ignored us for a good 15 minutes. When we went up to bed we were awoken numerous times by teens running up and down the halls banging and screaming at the doors.

The place was great in theory; the staff were friendly, the setting was nice; there was a nice gym and pool; but I was quite disappointed with a few things, especially for the price. The window in our room was very thin and one could hear everything outside during the night. I left a sign for room service on the door at about 9am and when I returned at 5pm the room has not been touched, and my colleague had to go find somebody to ask for new towels and for our bins to be changed. The shower was cracked or broken and water was leaking all over the floor each time it was used. There was not even a tap to fill a water bottle in the lobby and one had to go and ask the bar staff to fill it up (the bar wasn't open in the morning). I asked for a pint of a particular beer and the keg was gone (which is no problem), but when I asked the bar man if the keg would be changed that night he said it 'probably wouldn't be tonight' because there was no one to cover him, even though there was less than 10 people in the bar and plenty of staff coming in and out. The next night, I asked for a pint again and it was the same story. When the price is factored in, these little problems start to add up and I would not consider staying there again when one could have a stay of the same quality somewhere else for cheaper.

The room was clean, however it is definitely not a four star hotel as advertised. The room we booked was a superior double and we got a very big room with a double and a single bed which for a romantic getaway really isn’t it. The room was very outdated and in my opinion not worth the money. Location wise - also not ideal as you would still need to drive everywhere or take a taxi.

Overworked staff

The room was clean and well serviced every day with fresh towels and some days a tablet of soap was provided. Unfortunately our experience in the restaurant was not so good; the staff were so busy clearing and laying the tables they didn’t have time to ask what we wanted; on only one day out of four were we asked if we would like to have eggs cooked. Also the hygiene standards weren’t good. The dining room needs refurbishing and lacks ambience. We noted that the stairs are poorly lit.

Convenience of location to the latin quarter and salthill. We took uber taxi's that were super convenient to getting around. The hotel is beautiful. We loved the leisure club amenities there.

Belle association entre cet hôtel très confortable avec bonnes solutions de restauration et un club sportif avec une piscine de nage, salle de sport très bien équipée,fitness avec cours, mais aussi jacuzzi, hammam et sauna. Sans compter sur les salles de détente, le bar et le parking à disposition.
