Overnight Stay on our way up north

We picked this hotel as a half way point on our road trip since we were getting a late start. There is Denny's next door and gas station nearby, since we only stayed one night it wasn't a bad stop just somewhere to take a rest for the night. The lady at the front desk was nice on check in and called our room to make sure we were happy with it. My son wanted to jump in the pool but due to a nearby wildfire we kept him out for air quality reasons, or else he would have been in the pool that night. In the morning he made a waffle and I grabbed a coffee and we hit the road again. It was a good stay, no problems with the room, other guests or neighborhood.

I chose this place primarily due to its location near Buttonwillow Raceway and for its cost. The staff is great. The room is fine - clean, a/c works, etc.all that I could ask. parking lot is not great for my car but that's on me. The food offering in the morning is what I would expect for what I am paying - there is a Denny's easy walk if you want more. The upgraded look was very nice but at closer look, the furniture was pretty funky….a very small TV, scratches and wear on the furniture, and no reading lamps at bedside. I appreciate the room included ‘breakfast’ but it was pretty minimal and not for people with added sugar limitations (no plain oatmeal without sugar, one brand of highly sweetened yogurt, only apples as the fruit selection.
