Very friendly and comfortable

Staff are Great and very accommodating!

Very welcoming staff, who went out of their way to accommodate us with a late check-in and check out. My children really enjoyed our stay in this cosy hotel in Carlisle!
David, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Decent room, clean and perfectly serviceable, plenty of hot water for showers. Much better than some of the reviews make you think. I guess it depends what you're used to? Breakfast was good as well, cooked to order, served on a hot plate, decent quality and quantity. While I might not bring my wife here for a romantic weekend, I'd be more than happy to stay with mates or for a work trip, so will be back in future when I'm in the area.
Simon, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Hair in my shower, bed was not comfortable. People living in the hotel. Smoking where you want to access rooms. The level of upkeep in the photos is not representative of how the hotel is currently.
Carl, 1-night trip

Really friendly excellent staff, who were very helpful.

Great value

The gentleman checking us in was super nice and hospitality. Breakfast was delicious, minus the instant coffee. Our family room was basic but had everything we needed. The shower was interesting to use.

Very good customer service But outdated building Overall is food
Mustaq, 1-night trip

Dissapointed and concerned

The shower didn't work and there was no one in the building to help. The phone numbers listed, there were 2 similar with a single number changed looked like it was a typo, but that didn't matter because both numbers were not connected, completly useless no way of having a shower that morning. Also the kettle was dirty and the kettle lid had a crack in it that was probably dangerous.

Disappointing

Booked a single room. Very small, no table or chairs, bathroom and toilet across the landing, very dated and run down. Would not stay again.

Worsted hotel I’ve ever stopped in

I checked in on the 22nd,this hotel needs condemning holes in the wall shower that can only be described as a minging. It felt overwhelming to spend any time in the room so I left within a hour and found a Days inn which was 100% more in keeping to how a hotel room should be,very disappointed with the experience and would not stay at this hotel ever again in the future.

Disappointing

Lovely big room and bed was very comfy. However, cleanliness let it down. We had someone elses towels left hanging on bathroom door and the bin was filthy inside. Also, surprised no mattress protector.

I enjoyed my stay. Helpful staff.

Ergh... Avoid!!

The hotel made us give loads of personal data ahead of time (photos, driving license images etc) and gave a key code to access keys but there was a reception. There seemed to be a bar but it was pumping loud, awful music so we didn't investigate. The room was horrible, old and poorly maintained. It was horribly hot with weird poor quality furniture in odd places (they clearly wanted a wardrobe but had no space so it was up against the entrance door.) what a shame as the exterior was immaculate.

Too noisy. Yelling from next door. Good value for money breakfast.
Sonia, 1-night trip

A no nonsense property. It's exactly what's needed, wifi, shower and a kettle.

2/10 Poor

Never stay here. Horrible.

From the start to the finish, this hotel is horrible. the receptionist kept saying the place was getting refurbed, but clearly we didnt get a refurbed room in the roof for a family of 3. Smelt bad, looked bad, felt bad. Didnt get to try the free breakfast as we couldnt get out of there fast enough, didnt want skirvy. The shower had cobwebs within arms reach & on the ceiling above, we could clearly see 2 dead mice & a dead bird.

Friendly overnight stay in Carlisle

Old building with character in a good position on main road going into Carlisle from South with good parking. Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent value for money. Good sized room but not much furniture
Howard, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Everyone was so kind, and I can't wait to see what they do with the improvements! I will be back.
Julia, 1-night trip

Was a great stay and shops restaurants easy access
Les, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff were very polite, but the breakfast was average and a little greasy, but they were very attentive. The facilities were very dated and our window didn't shut properly and there was not another room for us to go to, not a massive issue in the end though as it was pretty quiet outside. Overall was a pleasant stay and would stay again, I would recommend maybe some uniforms and some modernising of the rooms though and maybe purchase something that cooks with less fat as well.

Hotel with character

On the whole we really enjoyed the stay at this hotel and would probably stay here again as very convenient for match visits to Brunton Park. Breakfast was delicious. Bed was a bit hard for our liking and there wasnt a hairdrier. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
