Room for improvement

5 star hotel , but you have to pay to pay to use the pool and our room was not turned down even though we stayed for 2 nights so had to reuse towels, etc. reception said I should of requested the service.. but at a 5 star hotel I shouldn’t have to think about this- it’s expected! The hotel is beautiful and clean and our room was amazing. Fabulous location too

There were two large groups that arrived while I was there. Reception was totally ill equipped to deal with the numbers and so was the kitchen. Dinner was awful and breakfast was mediocre. My room was very small and bathroom toiletries were extremely limited (I had one small container for body wash and shampoo combined). And the quality of the soap was awful for a 5-star facility. The hotel lobby and outside appearance are grand. I had high expectations.

Pros: The included breakfast was great. Location is good. The hotel arranged a reasonable taxi rate back to Tirana. Cons: Thebasic rooms are very small. The front desk staff was not friendly. We asked multiple times and different days about tours advertised in the lobby and never received an answer. Realize you will need to pay extra for access to the pool and spa. The hotel itself isn’t finished either. You will get a 3 star experience here.

Breakfast is typical Albanian. Unfortunately it is not 5* standard. Can’t cook an omelette or fried eggs. They are all cooked extremely well done and friend eggs placed on top of each other like pancakes. Another surprise is that the pool area is chargeable at €10 per person. When I asked the reason they said it cost them a lot of money to maintain the pool so they charge. Never seen this in a 5* hotel. Overall good compared to the price I paid

1. The room wasn't cleaned up when we returned after first day 2. There is only one chair to sit in the room 3. The arrangement of coffee/tea facilities is very strange, cups and cattle were in the different places, there was no socket for a cattle 4. Water in a swimming pool was very cold, jacuzzi was out of function and sauna was for additional payment 5. Information brochure about attractions in the neighbourhood was for additional payment of 2 Euro 6. The breakfast was very good! 7.
