8/10 Very good

A superior room should have a larger bed. For the higher payment, we expect a king

Didnt have breakfast in hotel, room was spacious, clean but a bit too warm
Brenda, 1-night trip

Excellent location. Wheelchair user. Accessibility could have been better but overall the accessibilty was okay. I was unable to be located in an accessible room and therefore that impacted the space. Staff were very good and helped whenever it was needed.

I liked everything: location, very close to train station
Jhonny, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The location was great for us as we arrived by train and was easy to get around. Room was good, a little dated (but typical for a historic hotel) hadn't been hoovered on arrival or in the 3 days we were there. Reasonable price for room only but breakfast was easily done with fridge supplied in the room, or easy to pop out somewhere close for dining. I didnt mind the £5 payment to use the gym, pool, sauna and really enjoyed the plunge pool. Resturant was good and reasonably priced and staff were very really good throughout . I would stay again

Generally the hotel is quite nice they seem to spend a lot of money upgrading the rooms over the last few years the issue is the spa pool jacuzzi and steam room are awful I'd be gutted if I spent money as a spa break

We will come again

Staff in the restaurant helped us to celebrate our child's BD at breakfast. Sang BD together and made us so happy. The leisure centre started taking £5 charge but it was even better and clean the facilities. Only the room was a bit noisy for the party
C, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Hotel is in a fantastic location, but unfortunately our first room had moths in it. They did try to clean it - but they remained. The hotel staff did change our room eventually and gave us a free drink and breakfast - but it was still an inconvenience.
Colin, 3-night trip

Excellent stay

Excellent two night stay. Lovely large room with lounge area which we later found out was the bridal suite. Room had bath and shower, bath towels could have done to be larger. Breakfast and lunch in the restaurant was very good. I am coeliac requiring gluten free and the staff were excellent and helpful especially Michael. Very local to station and town
Carolyn, 2-night trip

Good value, clean and safe

This is a lovely hotel right at the station in the city centre. It felt very safe and i appreciated the chain on the bedroom door for extra peace of mind as a solo traveller. The staff were friendly and professional. My room on the 4 floor was super clean, if a little tired looking. I liked the cosiness of the sloping roof, and it was a good size. I liked that there were soft pillows (firm pillows also if thats your preference) The breakfast was exactly as ibwould have expected and was good enough with a good choice. I would have preferred eggs cooked to order, but I did like the little mini danish pastries on offer. The hotel is in the city centre, with the train station on one side and a number of bars on the other, so its not going to be completely quiet, but it wasnt too bad and I slept well.
