We loved our stay at Onsen Ryokan Yuen Shinjuku. The aesthetics were beautiful and the reception staff were so lovely. The hotel is located on a quiet street but a short walk away from all the action. 100% would stay here again.

Excellent stay couldn't recommend enough!
This hotel has a lot of international tourists, which is no issue. The onsen is not bad but can get very busy.
Highly recommend the Japanese breakfast even just for one of the nights to experience , it is very delicious!
The room is a hybrid Ryokan, quite small for 2 people but beds are comfy, low cold water pressure which needs to get sorted and light does shine in easy through the blinds other than that an excellent stay.
Would come back

A little out of the way from stations but in a quiet neighborhood. Probably the best hotel in the area. Accommodating staff and rooftop onsen is a plus!

Great location and amenities, & the onsen was amazing!!! Rooms were small, typical of the Tokyo area. Only wish the window would open/crack a bit since it did seem stuffy even with the air on. Would stay here again!

Great little hotel, a little way outside the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. Check-in was easy, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless as is usually the case in Japan. Our stay in Tokyo was blighted by rain, but this made coming back to the hotel and relaxing in the very nice onsen all the better! Overall, couldn't have wished for a better place to rest the weary bones.

A lovely oasis a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. The moment you pass through into the inner courtyard, there is a calming of the nervous system! What a beautifully designed hotel. The rooms are small but efficient in their design. The Onsen is lovely. The hotel is immaculately clean. A perfect end to our Japan trip!

Everything was great, the onsen on the roof and views from our room (13th floor) were amazing at night. There was even a free snack/sake/tea bar end of each day! Great value and within 10-15min walk of a station.

Clean and comfortable small room, wonderful food (breakfast). We did not want to leave! My partner has some small tattoos, but this was no problem, he did not have to cover them up. Great service, we stayed 2 nights and our room got cleaned. Front desk staff are very nice and accommodating.

Divine property, with the best Japanese breakfast - it was next level!
My only complaint is the beds have duvets and the air conditioning was too warm - I asked if I could have a top sheet - this was problematic.

Amazing!! The roof top onsen is such a delight, amazing views and amenities. Open untill the early hours. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful and good level of English. The road has a handful of nice authentic Japanese restaurants. A short walk from the heart of Shinjuku. Frozen yogurt popsicles ready for after your onsen in the top floor lounge and evening snack and sake station in the restaurant for before bed

Beautiful property! This is a traditional style hotel and the rooms are small so it is important to be aware of that. It was smaller than we were expecting but we managed with a baby and toddler just fine. The breakfast is really good, highly recommend it! There is a 7/11 right out front which is super convenient. It is a little bit of a walk to get to the trains. I would stay here again.

Great location! There is a 7-11 right cross the street. I had all my breakfast there. Subway station only 5 min away. And 10 mins walk to Shinjuku. The hotel is clean, nice and cozy. I highly recommend this hotel.
