Loved the hotel though some aged traces in many places. Bathroom doors are not closing completely and locks didn't work. But overall, I recommend this hotel for staying in Charleston. It is located in the middle of the busy area and can walk to almost everywhere in the city. Also loved the lobby area. It looked gorgeous.

I am a professional photographer and I was there photographing clients who are graduating from College of Charleston this year. This hotel was centrally located on King Street and whenever I needed my car, it was brought around promptly and the service was excellent.

The Francis Marion is a beautiful historic hotel! Our room was comfortable including the bed & pillows. The lobby was lovely with many seating areas, period music in the background, a great coffee & tea service in the morning, fruited iced water in the afternoon & evenings and cookies set out for evening. We walked all over downtown Charleston and rested well each night. We highly recommend the Francis Marion!

Our room 610 was small and our bathroom was tiny. Staff was friendly enough. We ate at the Swamp Fox. Blinds were dusty and windows were dirty.
