"At first, we were taken aback at the un-staffed hospitality concept but we got used to this after we checked in and found it an innovative option. There is always someone present behind the counter during breakfast hours and there are cleaners as well. The hotel has a contemporary, modern feel to it. The seating areas on the ground floor give it a safe and comfortable ambiance, almost like coming home after a day of sightseeing. The staff were well organised and friendly, always helpful. If there was one thing I would suggest, it would be to keep the carpet around the bed area properly vacuumed. Our room faced the street and although it can be noisy when we opened our windows for fresh air, we could also shut the double windows to maintain quiet inside. The hotel is close enough to the center of town and far away enough to avoid any hustle and bustle. Eating places, ATMs, grocery stores are all within walking distance. The Post Grand hotel next door is its parent company so there is also the option of eating at the restaurants there. We thoroughly enjoyed our 14-day stay! "

"The stay was good, bathroom a bit dangerous due to newly laid tiles. Which are not designed for shower and bathroom floors. Had to use a towel in the shower and bath room floor to stop slipping over. "

"Check-in and check-out process was fast and efficient. Staff went the extra mile to assist when we had to make an international call to sort out our flight. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Wished we had more nights there! "

"I went in April, so peaceful. Walked to the beach and many trails. The village is very pretty. Breakfast was amazing, so tasty choices. On my final day I had to leave early and I was provided with a packed breakfast to take on the road with me."

"Very relaxing, clean and stylish minimalist design. Quiet location within walking distance to dunes and reed beds. Excellent cycling lanes. Plenty of wildlife and within easy cycling distance to colourful bulb fields, coastal tracks, wetlands and villages. Limited places to eat without transport. The food in the restaurant however is delicious and excellent quality but fairly pricy. Limited choice for vegetarians/vegans. Always at least 2 fish options. Around 100-110 euro for 2 mains, sides, desserts and beers. With wine, coffee and starters this would be considerably more. The service can be slow when it’s busy. Expect it to take 2 hours for an evening meal. The self service buffet breakfast is also excellent. All fresh, great choice and all prepared and presented to a very high standard. The rooms are lovely. Stylish and minimalist. Limited storage so you have to be neat and tidy or you spoil the clean lines! They had new beds. Really comfortable and we slept very well. Maybe that was also the fresh air, good food and relaxing atmosphere. This is our second visit and would definitely return and recommend. The texel hopper is cheap to transfer to and from the ferry port but only runs hourly and can take 45mins plus depending on other pick ups so bear that in mind when planning journey home. "

"The place exceeded our expectations. Lawrence is a first class host. The place is really quirky and well worth the money. Leeuwarden is just a fantastic base in the north of the country and we made a visit to one of the Wadden Islands with a two hour ferry journey which was splendid. "

"I enjoyed my stay very much, the staff of the hotel made my stay very enjoyable. Easy to communicate and super friendly! Only thing that was tough was the hotel did not offer any face towels, or wash rags. They only had a a bath towel and what I assumed was a floor mat towel. But outside of that the stay was perfect! Would definitely stay in this hotel again "

"Lovely setting and very well places for lakes and roads to getting around the Friesland. Rooms are a bit tired and the bathrooms need some TLC. Great staff and good facilities. "
