"Really pleasant check in. Fantastic room (new part of hotel) with complete black-out shutters, patio, comfortable beds, personal safe, fridge, TV, and lovely powerful shower. Good food, especially the Schnitzel. Great local Bitburg bier and Benediktiner Weissbier. Serving staff were very polite and helpful, allowing me to practice speaking German (poorly) but speaking really good English themselves. Very good breakfast selection to suit just about everyone's needs. Will definitely stay here again if in the area."

"A gorgeous hotel in the centre of a small town. It was initially difficult to find and locate the entrance to the underground car park but this turned out to be very convenient and totally safe. Check-in was easy but we were surprised that the best way to reach our room was by going out of the front of the hotel to re-enter by another door. This was not a problem and the lifts were good. The room was excellent, with a nice view of the town square. It was large with a king size bed, and a very nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was plentiful with a wide selection of hot and cold options. The spa was an added bonus. Overall, a superb hotel."

"The hotel is in a great location in the middle of the town. Easily walkable to the castle. It has its own free parking in a lot a short walk away. (Initially we didn’t know this and found parking tricky on a busy Sunday afternoon). Our room was really spacious, with quality furnishings and a big bathroom. It was a little old fashioned, but in a charming way. Dinner on the terrace was a highlight. The food, service and atmosphere were great. It’s clearly a popular spot. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend"

"Lovely hotel high up on the mountain side with an amazing view of the valley and Luxembourg on the other side of the river. The breakfast buffet was hardy and delicious, and the dinner one of the best I had in Europe! The natural setting was breathtaking. The infinity pool on the bottom floor has a great view of the valley, as well. The town had some fun places to explore, and it is just a short drive to Echternach on the Luxembourg side, which has a courthouse originally built by Charlemagne. If you visit the Waldhotel Sonnenberg, be sure to try their local honey. It is some of the best I’ve ever had! Available in the lobby. "

"We stayed on a Monday, so the restaurant was closed but we knew this beforehand. The place is beautifully renovated, we had the tower room, we got lost a few times having to go up stairs along a hall through more doors and up more stairs. Bit disorientating but we figured it out. Didn’t realise the bathroom was going to be the feature of the room, not our style but it was a beautiful bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful at night so slept well and restaurants in the town were open just a short drive away. Beautiful location too. "

"This is the 4th stay at the hotel, and I still haven’t found anything negative to say about the hotel. The condition, facilities and bar and food prices are excellent. The service is always with a smile. I can’t wait to return. The underground parking is fabulous and is free of charge. "

"Spacious, well decorated and clean apartment. Coffee and tea sachets provided (including coffee pods) provided and replenished each day. Also washing up cloths and dishwasher tablets. Comfortable 3-piece suite. Approx. 30 minute drive from Luxembourg city. There is also a bus service, but I don't know how frequent. There is plenty of off-road parking. The hotel is immediately next to a petrol station, but don't let this put you off. You don't notice it. And there is a well-stocked shop at the petrol station. Note that the hotel is in an isolated location, a couple of miles outside Helperknapp. Also it is in the canton (county) of Mersch, not the town of Mersch. And Helperknapp is also know as Tuntange. In short, trust your sat nav even if it appears to be taking you somewhere unexpected (possibly speaking from experince [laugh emoji])"

"Oh no, please don't make me leave this hotel! We have stayed here for four nights and haved loved coming back here every evening. The decor is so classy, the beds are so comfortable and the layout is sleek and modern. There are plenty of restaurants near by and the breakfast is hearty and plentiful. We found luxury, comfort and convenience, all under one roof & even the parking was a breeze! "

Yes, as others have said the rooms are a little dated, but do not let that put you off, the hotel is amazing and very clean."
