"The palazzo is beautiful! We had a fridge in the room, was what very convenient in this high temparatures! The room was excellent! The daily breakfast was made with love. It is perfectly located to see the area.

"Gorgeous property made all the more special by Stefania who is the jewel in the crown of this place! She made us feel special from the moment we arrived right through to our departure. The rooms were perfect with everything you could need and very clean -loved the bathroom with its high ceiling. Breakfast was fantastic with a great range and delicious local home made cakes and croissants. The pool is stunning, surrounded by olive trees and vin yards. We hope to be back again soon! "

"Tenuta Monacelli was the best hotel of our Italy stay. Absolutely stunning location, beautiful accommodation and amazing staff. Selena at the reception and Mimo at the restaurant really helped out stay make special. If you’re staying here, make sure to book the restaurant. It was so good, especially the white wine that Mimo recommended. Italy is quite far from our home but we’d love to come back just for the sake of staying at this hotel again!"

It was hot and uncomfortable to sleep and stay in the room in general. they offered a large fan, but since the room was small it was not a good option. there would have been no room for it and it would be blowing and noisy."

This is not a Grand hotel in the sense of the Danieli or Excelsior, however, that is probably because they choose not to have a restaurant, even though they put out a sumptuous breakfast and have a commercial kitchen and plenty of staff. Our room had filthy old green carpeting, but we noticed in the long hallway that some rooms have modern wood flooring, which is much more sanitary I don't know why we weren't given the upgrade since we are hotel gold members. The only other issue was the parking which we tried to reserve well in advance, but was unavailable, which was disappointing since we have a brand new Mercedes-Benz . The staff was very pleasant and the bathroom was spacious and had the best shower of our trip. Overall, it was good value for the money and it's probably one of the better hotels in Lecce."
