"Presented very well - unfortunately, we got in late and needed to leave very early, so we did not get to see all of the property or use the facilities - but the bit we did get to use was very nice. "

"Two couples traveling together from Glasgow with the train. Arriving around 2 pm and enjoyed the village and harbour. We checked in around 15:45 and got rooms on different floors. There were no elevators so the heavy luggage is… well heavy. The bar and staff was very polite. The breakfast although not included in the booked price was very good and also offered a wonderful view, real oceanfront."

"One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Amazing rooms, staff and food. We got a tire puncture on the way there, luckily only 2 miles from the hotel, and the staff helped us find a garage and recommended activities for us given our vehicle-less situation.
Note, no in room refrigerator and the hotel is closed Monday nights so all staff get a well deserved day off.
The surrounding area is spectacularly beautiful with lots of opportunities to explore the Scottish countryside and coastline. "

"The cabin was very charming and comfortable. The clothes washing was very convenient. We were lucky to have nice weather and were able to enjoy coffee on the patio in the mornings before we spent our days exploring. The one thing the photos don't capture is how beautiful the view is - it was so much better in person. We also toured the castle grounds and they were lovely as well."

Glenfinnan House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel, nice rooms and environment and easy to walk to the viaduc.
Very good personnel and restaurant.
Only inconvenient point, bathroom door was not closing in our room."
"We enjoyed staying at the Garrison. The staff were outstanding and breakfast was delicious and free! They had free snacks in the room and in the evening at the bar. I highly recommend. The only neg was the housekeeping put the clean towels they were going to put into the rooms onto the floor outside of the rooms! But did I die? Nope! I dried off on one of the towels and kept on traveling! I would definitely stay here again. Walk to dinner , overlooking the waterfront, superb friendly staff and free snacks. "
"Despite the rainclouds hovering during our visit, our stay at the Holly Tree Hotel was a peaceful retreat. Nestled between dramatic mountains and the calming waters of Loch Linnhe, the location offers a sense of quiet seclusion that’s hard to come by.
The inclement weather kept us indoors more than planned, but somehow that only deepened the stillness and made the setting feel more intimate. The hotel itself maintains a gentle charm—warm, inviting, and perfectly suited for recharging away from the bustle.
A special mention goes to the incredible staff who made our stay feel effortlessly relaxed—always attentive yet never intrusive. Breakfasts were wholesome and comforting, and the vegetarian dinner was a pleasant surprise, offering a thoughtfully prepared meal that didn’t feel like an afterthought.
Whether you’re watching the mist roll in from your window or simply soaking in the silence, the Holly Tree Hotel proves that even rainy days can be restorative."
"The hospitality was wonderful and the manager even played chess with our son. He was very engaging and friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean and cozily decorated. Our son was fine on the pull out couch. "
"The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. The drying room was a life-saver after we were drenched in a rainstorm while hiking. Room was perfectly clean and fresh, exactly what we needed! Thanks for a great stay!"
"A fantastic place to stay for a night. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Was lucky to get the front room with great views over to Mull. Easy walk up to the rest of the village, and very close to the ferry terminal. Great breakfast!"
"Really enjoyed our stay. We headed on to Skye after Camus House and really wished we had spent an extra day at Camus house instead. Beautiful property, great views. Additionally, Glencoe Valley is better than Skye. Hosts made great dinner recommendations. Just a really wonderful experience. "
"We loved the little cabins we stayed in. We even jumped into the water for a wee swim and then would run back into the cabin for a hot shower. Staff was very friendly. The cabins come with little kitchens so we enjoyed breakfast while looking at the beautiful view. Reccomended!!!"
"This was week 2 of owner taking on the property ...once we knew this a lot of things made sense.
Had the comfiest bed and slept well both nights, lots of hot water too.
We also were given a breakfast hamper that he was trying out , and that was a creative way to provide breakfast ...so good thinking. we were lucky to be chosen as guinea pigs.
Definately work in progress for the accomodation....and good luck ."
"We loved staying at the Duisdale House Hotel. Perfect location, right across from the water with a quick path to the beach. The staff were the best. So fun and funny and a joy to be around. "
"We enjoyed our stay, and the rooms are very nice and located in the Inn with a bar below it which is convenient for refreshing drinks after the journey. Would highly recommend staying at the Factors Inn."
"The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms appeared recently renovated and very clean. We also enjoyed the restaurant downstairs, the food was delicious!"
"Mingarry Park is a unique property. The rooms are exceptional and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was prepared to perfection. If you visit western Scotland you must stay here."
"Spectacular stay. The castle is such a unique experience as a hotel and we loved every minute. The property is beautiful and the service was five star. The only negative was a giant beehive outside our room which prevented us from opening the window. A couple bees also made it inside our room but we were able to “guide” them back out with a small towel. Fortunately neither of us are allergic but my wife was not happy. However this didn’t ruin our stay and we would absolutely return and recommend to anyone. Definitely pricey but we found it worth it. "
"Had a super overnight stay. It was very comfortable, super clean, lovely bathroom. The breakfast, complete with homemade sourdough bread, was just delicious. Highly recommended. "
