The hotel grounds are spacious and beautiful and I had a room which, once reached up the steepish backstairs, was large, very comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom was so small you had to close the door to fit in it. No shower, you had to sit in the bath with a hand held head, that leaked. The entrance to the wing we were in felt like you were in the hotel from “The Shining”, you had to walk past piles of laundry, hotel supplies etc. I asked the lovely gentleman at the front desk if we...

"The split leveling of the building was brillant with use of light wood and windows. The house felt airy and very modern even though the outside is traditional. The use of the garden with many seating areas encourages you to sit and relax."

The bar too was a bit of an issue, however, this was made available to us and dining Al Fresco with a beautiful view was accomplished.

"Medieval monastery converted to a beautiful hotel with loads of character and charm. Lovely grounds surrounding the hotel were ideal for afternoon picnics or reading under the shade of the massive pine trees. Great restaurant in-house with locally sourced menu. Every detail was perfect and the staff were brilliant. The surrounding Gorges du Tarn and Gorge de la Jonte were absolutely astounding. Great base for exploring the Cevennes.
