"This place has a lot of character! I have to admit that the Nightmare Before Christmas decorations in the front room scared me a bit as we arrived late at night, but if you are a movie buff you will love looking around at all the signed pictures, memorabilia and decorations.
The room itself is beautiful and very comfortable, I would recommend adults to stay."

"The Royal Snail is a great boutique hotel on the outskirts of town but very walkable. Free parking outside the property. Rooms were spacious and all staff were happy to help.
Breakfast was good - only cold buffet on display however hot items could be made on request which was great as they were fresh! I really appreciated the omelette and bacon which was cooked for me!
Restaurant was lovely with great food. It was busy with few staff however we never felt like we were neglected and they made sure we had everything we needed. Good selection of wines and specialist gin with many tonic options.
The spa is quite pricey but beautiful, very small but a high standard - treatments need to be booked in advance as external staff cons to do these.
The gym is small and functional (TV was missing from wall when we were there).
The pool is really tiny - it’s a plunge pool more for decoration - would be great to have some big fish in it as not really a functional pool!
The bedrooms are nice with the best mini bar I’ve had for years! Huge super king bed. Beware that some bedrooms have only a glass screen between the bedroom and bathroom with no privacy screen! Ours had a separate bathroom which was fine (6th floor). The TV really needs upgraded in the room - specified SMART TV but wasn’t - usually freebies channels only, no internet to cast devices or watch Netflix etc.

The shining star was on Monday morning when my non existent French was getting me nowhere with the tyre garages, the lovely receptionist called a few garages for me until we found a tyre and we could continue our holiday.. Comme le stipule la description, il n'y a pas d'air conditionné (mais un ventilateur), cependant pour la température comme pour l'aération il est agréable de pouvoir ouvrir."
