Only outlet working was the one for the TV, They brought us an extension cord and unplugged the TV to solve the problem. "I had a very friendly greeting by the host and she gave me great advice for a beautiful hike at Verdon gorge. The property is very charming and surrounded by wonderful scenery. I woukd gladly stay here again. The only downside is no AC (my stay was in late July when it was very hot) but it cools down nicely in the evening, so it was manageable "

You can tell they have been making upgrades and modernising the hotel but our room just felt a bit old still and in need of renovation. The bed was clean and comfortable. The food was ok but massively overpriced, as was breakfast. It is a ok hotel but believe it was too expensive for what it was."

The hotel agreed to a part refund for 2 nights so we could move to a hotel with air conditioning, requesting that we speak to go Hotels.com to get the balance of the 2 days they wouldn't refund us for which was for the fees that they had paid to hotels.com. Hotels.com won't honour this refund of the amount they charged...

"Best location, minutes from Castellane town center by foot. Accommodations are good but not a very private camping. All lots are corded side by side with minimal space but considering the proximity to activities no need to spend anytime at campsite other then sleep. Everything was functional and clean with mobile home."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations! The amenities are fantastic, with a complete range of facilities including a sauna and a swimming pool. The owner is incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I particularly loved one of the rooms, but unfortunately, it was already booked when I wanted to extend my stay for a few more nights. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience!"
"This auberge is situated in the centre of Castellane, with a river at the rear that you can swim in. The breakfast was varied and there was plenty of it, lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. There is a large rear shaded terrace which was quiet snd you could relax have a drink.
Castellane has a friendly, busy but relaxed vibe, plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay again.
Ask for a room on the rear so that it is hidden from the buzz of the square. "

"I hate writing negative reviews, but if I saw a review like this, I would 't have made the mistake of staying. Its rare the rating system on this site fails me, but holy carp, this was not good. 6.0 at best. Didn't feel right when we pulled up in the neighborhood, no one at check-in, but keys stapled to the wall. The room was no frills, which was fine, but even the common areas were 2-star. AC not working well was the icing on the cake. We almost left, but it was just a quick crash for the night , shower and leave early in the morning. At half the price, maybe, as that would told you exactly what the place was. "

"Turns out they were closed on the day of our checkin which we were not aware of. We tried to call and no one answered. We finally got a number for emergencies and he gave us the code to the safe with our key. When we got to the place they had not prepared at all. The beds were not made, there was no soap or cleaning items to towels yet checkout required us to wash dishes. The electricity was also off so we had to find the electrical box. The WiFi also didn’t work. When we tried to calll back the emergency number no one answered."

No one came, called the number, a guy answered, he said two minutes, waited ten minutes, no one came, called again, this time a woman answered, she said two minutes, waited another ten minutes, still nothing, called again, this time she gave us a code to get in the door and directed us to keys hanging on the wall via phone.
