"Good location with easy transport links. Very useful to have twenty four hour reception and check in, staff at the desk were always very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good range of choice, and a good size room so even when busy, didn’t feel overcrowded. The bar downstairs is nice - great for people watching the lobby! Rooms nice and simple with large bathrooms. Would happily stay again. "

"The hotel is in a great area however you can’t drive there because there are gates around old town. You need to make sure to call the hotel and get the address of a parking structure near the hotel, then we had to drag our luggage over from the parking which is about 10 minutes walk. There are gates on both sides of the town that if you are a first timer, you will have a hard time figuring out. The hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Very minimalistic, barely any toiletries, it’s LOUD and even the fans in the room are loud and have bright lights. So if you can’t leave the window open, you are stuck with loud fans with bright blue lights. Location wise it’s in the middle of everything and the staff was SUPER friendly. "

"One of the best hotel stays we have ever had. Hotel is very modern. Parking was a breeze. Staff were very helpful. Complimentary beverages in room fridge were a pleasant surprise. Hotel is very quiet even though it backs onto train tracks. Our daughter loved having her own private space. There are lots of walkable food options in area. We will stay at the Arte Hotel if we are ever in the Saltzburg area again."

"This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel, and we love the peaceful location by the water and it being the “back of the house” in Sound a Music. It now has a bar in it too! It’s 1-2 miles to old town, but we didn’t mind a walk or uber. Would definitely stay again!"

"The pictures on the website did not do our room justice at all. It was absolutely stunning. My children were blown away by the size of it, not to mention the piano. We had a one bedroom suite with a sofa bed in the lounge area, which was just as comfortable as the main bed. The rooftop restaurant is superb. We didn’t realise when we booked that this is also where breakfast is served in the morning. There are numerous buses that stop very close to the hotel, but the central tourist attractions are only a few minutes walk away. Beautiful hotel and city. We hope to visit again soon."

"Truly the greatest stop of our journey through the Alps this summer. We were torn whether to stay outside the city center at one of the other communities around Hallstatt but in the end we took the plunge and stayed at Heritage and it didn’t disappoint. We were able to amble through its quiet streets at night amidst the drizzle and rain and it was perfect. Throw in a good meal at the restaurant there when the other places in town were closed or fully booked and I’d go back again and again if I could. What a magical place Hallstatt is and what a way to complement it by the hotel."

"You need to book the lake view rooms! Walking onto the balcony at all hours to admire the lake was the star of the show, especially when there's a boat playing live music in the evening. The owner, Franz, was so helpful to my elderly Asian mom. Her English isn't the best, and she told me he was patient and informative. Parking is 18EUR, but that's standard in that small area. The city enforces it, so the neighboring hotels do it too. The bathrooms are clean and were cleaned everyday. With all our activities, we missed the dinner at the hotel that everyone raves about. There's a pizza restaurant down the street that we decent and stayed open late, but next time we're back, we'll need to try the hotel's dinner!"
