We’d prepaid through Expedia but the checkin software couldn’t find the booking. The entrance lobby holds two people and three’s a crowd - the automatic door kept opening and we were battered with rain and hail so we did not enjoy trying to solve the Sonnenwirth’s software problems. The breakfast room wasn’t very accessible if you were disabled. There were only 2 tables that were accessible so if someone already sat there you had to wait is my only criticism "

I booked this place mainly because of the access to the pools next door (RapSoDie) which is now, unfortunately, closed for reconstruction. "As a big chain hotel, we generally knew it was going to be a good familiar choice. We loved the surroundings and found the Bikini ART Museum attached to the hotel to fun addition. Lots of parking available as well as a gas station, variety store and restaurant.

"The hotel is located in the centre of a commercial area. This means that there are plenty of shopping facilities just a few metres away. The rooms are clean and very new, as they have just been renovated, and the room also had a fridge. Unfortunately, the air conditioning didn't work. The reception was friendly and check-in was quick and easy. As the hotel is right next to a McDonald's it can get very noisy, so always make sure you get a quiet room at the back. The parking situation is not easy as there are very few free parking spaces, otherwise the hotel has an underground car park for €10 per night."

Only issue is that we booked a half board package through hotels.com. Our evening meal was booked at a restaurant a 20 minute walk away. This turned out to be an uphill walk through vineyards to a fort at the top of the town. Our meal was in the cafe - wooden tables, plastic chairs, no atmosphere and only one other couple who were about to leave. Apparently there was a restaurant downstairs but that was laid up for an event the following day. So we returned to the hotel and requested to be seated in their restaurant which duly happened and we had a very enjoyable meal."
