"The tasting menu and local wine pairing was the highlight of my stay and may also be the highlight of my 3 week trip of Japan. The quality and thoughtfulness of the dishes are complimented superbly by sommelier So-san's wonderful service and exquisite selection of world-class wine.
The room and hotel conditions were good but nothing extraordinary. The main downsides are the poor sound proofing and lack of elevators for those transporting heavy bags."

"If you don’t have a car, very difficult to reach the place.
And very difficult to go to ski resort.
Very important to know that you need a international driver licence to rent a car in Japan.
We had this bab experience and we lost all the money because they aren’t flexible. NO refundable …. "

"The location was interesting and I enjoyed the night walks at the canal. It is admittedly a bit far, hard to walk especially in the snow, but just take note of the bus timings!"

"Stair inside the room that can directly goto the other room without door/gate. Feel not safe if stranger live downstair, also not safe if young kids walking around. The toilet without any ventilation fan, make it a bit smelly. Parking area is not big enough for 2 car, maybe is the parking instruction not show clearly how to park the car. The instruction should show how two car parking in the parking area. This house better for those who only need sleep."

"It's a lovely small property that can hold a surprising amount of people very easily. It's slightly on the older side, however the owner is very attentive and will fix issues on the spot if notified. The area also has some of the best views surrounding the town, and has a very active downtown full of places to visit!"

"For the most part this was a good stay. Convenient parking right outside, super nice onsen, and comfortable room. The experience would've been better if the room had been "pre-heated" as it was really cold when we checked in and it took quite some time for the heater to heat up the room to a comfortable temperature. Check-in was a bit tedious as it felt as a slower process doing it at the machine (with a staff member there to help) rather than just handling it directly in the reception."

"Very good hotel. Service was great. Check out the bakery for some nice Japanese style breads in the morning. Major Otaru attractions are a short walk away. Elevators could be very busy during high traffic times. "
"Not really knowing what to expect, I at first was nervous due to the front entrance. It doesn't appear up to date and I had one of the tiles loosen almost out of place. That was my only concern throughout my stay. The hotel staff greeted me warmly and offered me slippers to change into (my feet were too big for any of them). It was an easy check in. I carried my stuff to my room and honestly thought they had made a mistake. The room was so nice, clean, spacious, updated and furnished well that I thought I was in the wrong room. I could've stayed in the room the whole day because of how nice it is compared to many other rooms in Japan. Breakfast was welcomed and different from usual hotel breakfasts offered. I'm writing this as a two month traveler of the country. They deserve every good rating they receive."
"New hotel, 1. great Location where you can walk to Otaru’s main tourist attractions, 2. Breakfast were excellent! 3. Laundry: Room TV shows how minutes left for each Laundry unit to finish, so it was super helpful to manage the timing for Landry chore.
Little disappointment were, 1. no luggage rack!?! So you have to leave luggage on the floor. 2. Big ofuro had steam sauna (women) but it was a joke. It wasn't hot at all. I was able to do own hot yoga (warm yoga!) "
"최고의 숙소였습니다. 일본 가정집의 정취를 느끼시려면 꼭 여기에 숙박하세요! 숙소에 사장님 옛날사진들을 볼 수 있는데, 여기가 얼마나 시간이 흘러 추억이 쌓였는지 가늠할 수 있어요. 허그상과 모모상도 정말 귀여워요!
객실마다 공간이 충분히 넓고 샤워시설도 적당합니다. 그리고 아침식사 서비스 또한 아주 좋았습니다"
"Our room was spacious, although the bathroom was a little small. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the canal and restaurants. We enjoyed our brief stay."

"My wife and i were here for snowboarding, and really enjoyed our stay. The location’s central, has a Seicomart just across the road, petrol station, and a coin laundry within a stone’s throw. And a Coop (supermarket) just down the road aswell.
The bedroom configuration is pretty compressed/tight but that’s not too bad. Everything else is great. "
"Had a pleasent stay and closeby main attractions.
Do note that the stay is on top of the hills so its difficult to get to by foot.
However, the view is very nice.
