"Need more variety of food for dinner & breakfast. They stop making fresh pizza and bringing fresh food out from the kitchen as there were not many new customers in the restaurant. "

"Was a nice area to visit.
Wish I had studied more of area. Would have stayed 2 nights instead of 1 had I known better.
Very interesting area and hot springs hard to find as I speak nor read Japanese.
But did enjoy the experience."

"The distance to the hotel from the main street is walkable. But there is slope so big luggage will be slightly tough."

"fast wifi, comfortable room, clean, both gold and silver hot springs, easy access parking, well located with walking distance to shops and restaurants, only downside is smelling smoke on the hallway of the fourth floor. The room is fine. Overall a very satisfactory stay

"Great little hotel with very friendly staff.
Excellent value with free natural Spa (hot water with healing powers emerging from the ground) and an excellent Japanese breakfast (see picture). A few minutes' walk from the bullet train station.
Highly recommended."

"This hotel is hidden away in the residential area of Kobe, behind Kobe station. The staff is very accommodating, although there is a language barrier. There is a natural hot spring within the property and they asked you to pay 500 yen hot spring tax upon check in. There is a combination of japanese style room and western style room and it was slightly confusing to find our room as the identification was not clear and was not explained by reception upon check in. We stayed in a western style...

Kobe MerikenPark Oriental Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I had wonderful suite room at corner with amazing city view of Kobe! If you come from Sannomiya Train station, there is free shuttle bus service that this hotel offers with another stop by different luxurious hotel establishment. Morning buffet offered so many varieties that surprised me, especially grilled burgers and multiethnic cuisines. Modernized room with cleaned toiletries. Before checking in, i also loved checked luggage room system that this premise offers. The lounge access was also plus, with wide options of drinks and luxurious offerings. "
"We love this hotel. My daughter and I stayed here last year and were delighted to return with my husband. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and designed to be comfortable and functional. The view from rooms 1213 and 1214 was of the street below and looked out onto Mount Rokko.
The staff was excellent! Some of them spoke English. They were very helpful in getting us taxis, storing our luggage, shipping our luggage, and anything else we needed.
We used the laundry facilities, and the washer/dryers were great! The cost was 500 yen, which covered both washing and drying, as well as the detergent. I did have to use an extra drying cycle. The machines lock, and a timer displays the remaining time. That was helpful to know when to come back because someone else was using them, and also when to return to pick up your clothes.
We attended the evening's dessert around 8 PM. Last year, the desert was ice cream with toppings. This year, it was an ice cream float with flavors I had never seen in the United States.
My favorite part of the room was the long bathtub! The bathroom facilities were beautiful and of high quality. The beds were comfortable and had one feather pillow and one polyfiber filling in the other. There was enough room to walk around the two beds, which were pushed together. The refrigerator was a little small, but it worked for us. My husband loved the kettle so much that he bought one to take back home.
The price was very reasonable!"
"The hotel offer great living experience, with free wine/champine/other soft drinks and snacks from 5 to 8pm. There is a good open yard on the floor of reception. They provide everything to your room. There are many staff and thus you can also receive greetings and the help you need. They also offer luggage storage service. The floor can only be accessed with a room card."
"I'd probably come back to this hotel in the future if I decide to stay in Kobe City. My room offered spacious conditions with nice couch and separated bathtub from toilet because I really dislike Unit Bath in general. Cleaned bath tub in Japanese fashion, and the shower head is so up to date style that I personally enjoyed taking. This facility also offers lounge refreshments at 3rd floor and coin laundry at top floor (make sure you have 4-5 100 yen coins that do both washing and drying in single machine; no need of bringing personal washing detergents). Overall, I was super satisfied during my stay. "
"Amazing attentive staff that took care of our requests. Area had lots of shopping and great dining options nearby. Hotel was clean, full of amenities, had plenty of room for a Japanese hotel. We enjoyed our 4-night stay and would return again!"
"Amazing property 5 min walk from station, plenty dining and shopping options on the doorstep. Staff super friendly and helpful would definitely recommend "
"We had a wonderful time at Taketoritei Hotel Maruyama. Shuttle service was outstanding. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Room with open air Onsen we stayed was very spacious, clean, comfortable. Open air Onsen was beautiful and quiet. Enjoyed very much. Dinner was phenomenal, and the breakfast was delicious as well. Hospitality was just beyond my expectations. We highly recommend this place. "
"The hotel is central and right next door to Chinatown; minutes from a metro, JR line and buses: opposite a branch of the store Daimarou. A 10 minute walk to the City Museum too. The reception staff were efficient and friendly and went the extra mile to help out with problems. It was nice to have a spacious lounge area with complimentary tea coffee juice most of the day. Some people will miss the usual spacious bath tub but the shower room was super efficient. "
"Room are spotless, clean and comfortable. Public spas are very good, amenities are very well prepared. Should have shower cap. Staff are very nice and helpful. I lost my stuff, staff in dining area and front are very helpful. They tried to find it and return to me at my room. I am very appreciated for your kind effort. I did not know there names because everyone are very eager to help. Please give my thanks to all of them.
I don't like buffet style. I prefer kaiseki dinner and breakfast. If you have kaiseki dinner and breakfast, I will stay with you again."
