Learn more about Chiricahua National Monument

The region around Chiricahua National Monument is home to attractions such as Heart of Rocks and Fort Bowie National Historic Site.

This is just off the Echo Canyon Trail, we found an interesting cave-like formation and climbed to the top to get this amazing overview. These formed when volcanic ash settled and hardened in the area after which water and wind eroded away the weaker parts, leaving behind huge towers of rock. After visiting this it right up there with Zion and Yosemite as some of my favorite places to hike.
