"Great location, nicely furnished and great breakfast. Pool was a bonus. A mile from the village but the local taxi was very efficient and reliable."

"I think the property offers a very good value. The rooms are basic but clean and they provide a bountiful breakfast. The dining table and the accoutrement on them are slightly sticky, but we enjoyed a lovely home cooked meal of crepes, eggs your way and bacon, plus all the baked goods you can eat. The grounds are lush and have a medieval defense tower which was very picturesque. "

"Vanessa and her husband are wonderful hosts and they truly have the gift of hospitality. Our room was quiet and relaxing, and the breakfast that Vanessa made was delicious. We would stay here again and hopefully we'll bring our boys on the next trip."

"Located in the center of Carentan across from the bahnhof, this hotel is easy to find. Parking is available in back or on the street. The room we stayed in #11, has no interior curtains. To have privacy, you close the outdoor shutters and lock them, the close the windows.
No electric outlets in the bathroom or 2nd room where 2 single beds are located.
Rooms are clean, bed was firm. "

"This place ranks 2nd in my top three of worst places I have stayed. This is based on the condition, comfort and cost to stay. I really wish I’d not stayed, it was horrible."

"It was a nice, clean room with walking distance to the American cemetery and across the facilities were the Overlord museum. Both places really worth to visit. The breakfast was all you needed and more to it! Fresh and really tasty! "

"We enjoyed the rural setting, the elegant decor and spacious room. Check in was friendly and efficient. Morning breakfast buffet was also wonderful. Location was also very convenient to Normandy World War II sites."

"We had a lovely stay! Paul was an excellent host and the property was close to all the sights we wanted to see. The home comes with a fascinating story and connections to WWII, which our kids enjoyed hearing. The grounds are beautiful and quiet - an excellent spot for our family of 5 "

"We liked that it was part of Accuielle Velo. The dining room was not open but meal trays were offered. This was helpful because we were traveling by bike and the hotel is somewhat remote. The meals were simply small microwaveable dishes, plus some extras. Better than nothing but not worth 23 euros apiece! That is absurd for what we got. We have had other boxed meals in France that were far better. Breakfast was only 11.50 Euros apiece and much higher quality. The hosts were very nice but I...

Maisy Battery is just one of the landmarks located 1.2 mi (2 km) from central Grandcamp-Maisy, so you might want to stop by for a few pics during your trip. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here? If you want to experience more of the culture Grandcamp-Maisy has to offer, head to Pointe du Hoc and La Cambe German Cemetery.
"Fantastic small hotel near the center of town and convenient for everything. The only thing I would mention is to be aware that checking in is only from 5pm until 8pm. No one on the premises at other times. "
"Very helpful and kind staff. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Very convenient location. Restaurants and tours were close. Could see the Cathedral from my window. Economical and close to everything. Would stay again"
"This place is amazing. Really kind host. Garden is beautiful and has a restaurant at the end that will let you take drinks back to the terrace. Seems newly renovated. Really really nice. "
"Very unique hotel! We got to stay in the "stables!" It was beautiful converted into a nice room for 3 with a kitchenette and it was very clean. Do make sure you request breakfast when you check-in for the next day if you will be wanting it. This needs to be "pre-ordered."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."
"It was a wonderful stay in a French chateau in the countryside. We rented a car so there was no issue with transportation but I’m not sure how you would get around if you didn’t have one. Our room was on the top floor but they helped carry the suitcases up as there was no elevator. I was worried about not having air conditioning but there was a fan in the room and when the windows were open it had a nice cross breeze so it wasn’t an issue. The gardens were amazing and well kept. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant as well. The pool and hot tubs were ok. The sauna was not working. I would have liked to have known the history of the Chateau but I couldn’t find anything (like a brochure or even on the Internet) that could elaborate on it. I really did love our stay there. I loved our cozy little room. The bathroom was a good size and every window had a stunning view. "
"Literally just back from a 2 night stay here and stayed in a family duplex since was for 4 adults which are on a separate block to the main house.
Was a very nice stay overall, big spacious room with an additional upstairs double bed and bathroom, although just the one toilet for both floors.
Lovely quiet grounds to sit in, fairly easy 20 minute walk into the middle of Bayeux and breakfast plentiful buffet style thing.
I have an EV so perfect for me, arrived with about 40% battery and filled up for about £27 on the 22kw charger so happy days!
Staff friendly so honestly no complaints from us.
I would say breakfast is too expensive at €17 per person per night is my only observation."
"The staff was super nice and very accommodating. We really enjoyed having drinks in the parlor before heading out to dinner in town - which was a short and pleasant walk. "
"The staff were wonderful, very attentive and friendly.
We were in a stand alone house operated by the hotel. The only issue we believe exists, is the need for additional seating in the common area. Such as a large sofa.
The location is a few minute walk to shops, restaurants, and the tapestry. A great home base for Normandy battle sights.
"
"This was our base during our visit to Normandy. Located in a central location to restaurants and shopping, it was a lovely historic hotel. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan - which was great. Staff was courteous and helped with all our questions. Taxis are readily available to get to the train station. Will stay there again should we ever find ourselves in Bayeux. Exactly as described. "
"We stayed in a small room with a lovely view of the Arromanche beaches. The location of this hotel provided wonderful access to Normandy D day landing sites, museums and cemeteries. It is directly across from the recently renovated Museum de Debarquement in Arromanche. We lived out of our suitcase as there was no dresser or closet. Despite this limitation, we had a wonderful time during the 3 day stay. The front desk was very accommodating, letting us check in at 1pm on the date of our arrival. They also let us use a parking spot in the employee parking, although this is not generally available. We enjoyed the meals in the restaurant so much that we had breakfast and dinner there for all 3 days. It was both a historic and romantic accommodation. We definitely want to return!"

"This is a fantastic little hotel and spot less. It great for getting out and about and in walking distance of lovely bars and restaurants. We shell be returning to this wonderful hotel."
"We had a lovely family room which was very spacious and beautiful, overlooking the garden. The bathroom had a welcomed walk-in shower. The staff was friendly and professional. Pleasant evening-turn downs with a room refresh given. Villa Lara is 1 minute walk from the Tours pick-up, the Cathedral, shops and great restaurants. Highly recommended. "
"Very friendly and personable owners, very fun to converse with even though I wasn’t fluent in French, wonderful spread for breakfast and a nice layout "
"The host was outstanding! One of the best we’ve ever had. Hotel was in a great location. Close enough to Omaha Beach. Breakfast was excellent as was service throughout the day. "
