"I had a great time at the “Carlton Hotel”. Great location for everything you may need. They were having a re-model, but it didn’t put a negative to my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. "

"Beautiful renovation (still under way in some areas of the hotel). Very friendly staff. Very pretty and quaint downtown area of Atascadero. Delicious mushroom burgers at Sylvester’s a few doors down. "

"We recently spent the weekend up in Atascadero for the MidState Fair. Overall the hotel stay was fine. However, there was major construction happening with debris from the construction all over the site. Our towels were stained and/or extremely worn. The place was quiet and easily acceptable to the freeway and local areas. The staff was helpful when one of our keys didn't work (likely deactivated by us). "

"Great hotel and service. A new hotel with a short 5 minute drive to downtown Atascadero. The front desk staff were very nice and seemed genuiunely happy to work there. The design of the new building appeared to be built with safety in mind. Great room for the price. We will definately be staying again. "

"Breakfast was ok. They had muffins, coffee, water for tea, cereal, and two hot plate options which was either a breakfast ham sandwich and bacon. Not sure if it changes on a daily basis. Room was clean and comfortable but mattress was too hard for my taste. "

"Loved seeing what they've done with the place! Beautifully redone top to bottom! The breakfast was amazing - glad we bought that option. Didn't get to use the pool but it looked nice. Our A/C made a bit of noise, but other than that the entire stay was wonderful!"

Atascadero is an adorable little town. There's great hiking and really fun restaurants, including a great sports bar next-door and a really fun outdoor beer garden across the street.

I love a small, quaint town like Atascadero. I just wish I had rolled through around a holiday & had more than one night to stay. Loads of places to eat around the hotel or within a block or two. Lovely area's to take an evening stroll. I'll be back.

The part of town with the Carlton is changing. There is a new plaza and some other newer business coming in over the last few years. We like some of the older place nearby too. We usually take a t rip to Morro Bay and sometimes SLO when hedre

"We had an awesome experience. Great views from the room, walkable to the beach and restaurants, but in a more quiet area of Pismo Beach. Great service. We wish we would have stayed all week! "
"Great place to stay if you just want a comfortable bed to spend the night. Very close to lots of restaurants and shopping centers, including Walmart, In-N-Out and seafood grills. It’s on a hill. The staff is very friendly and housekeeping very helpful."
"The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is just across from a walking boardwalk and below is the beach! The views are amazing. The bed and pillows made it comfortable in order to get sleep and rest. No AC but it’s the coast so there’s a nice breeze throughout the day. Recommend you visit. "
"Great at location and service were great. They had free appetizers and drinks over the 4th of July. I am not sure if it was just for the holiday or regularly included within the stay. It was great! My family enjoyed the outdoor pool area and seemed to be family friendly and yet had plenty of spaces for adults to have a quiet enjoyable time. Breakfast was awesome! "
"We checked in late night and we just wanted a place to rest. Upon entering the room we were so surprised at the cleanliness and comfort. I loved the room. Very spacious. I can tell they are new, but still a great location and amazing staff. Breakfast was also a good selection. "
"The place is nice. There was however a very strong chemical type odor from the moment you walked in the door. The odor was in the rooms as well. It smelled like cleaning solutions or the chlorine from the indoor pool.
The service and everything else was nice."
"Enjoyable stay! We recently stayed here and will definitely stay here again. The staff were amazing, our room was very nice with plenty of space and all the amenities. The evening BBQ meals and cantina were awesome as well! We were also very close to downtown for dining and shopping. Wonderful hotel! "
"We have stayed at the Apple farm three times now and every stay has been consistently good! Staff is nice, rooms are comfortable and clean, and its affordable. It definitely has that farmhouse feel while being surrounded by the greenery that san luis provides. :) "
"The property is very quiet, you can hear the sounds of the ocean. Nice chairs to go out and relax. Nice little breakfast- more than continental. Right across from the walking path and a way to get to the ocean. Nice staff"
"My only real suggestion would be to replace the antiquated toilets, they're literally sized for preschoolers and the sinks are too. Both can use replacement"
"If you love all things ornate, and over the top kitschy, then this is the place for you. We had fun exploring the property and the fun details in every corner. We stayed in the Dot & Daisy room (I recommend a room with a balcony), one of the cheaper rooms, but still it felt special. We ate in the main restaurant, which is on the pricier end, but delicious (let them know when you make the reservation if you are there for a special occasion. They gave us a huge piece of cake in honor of our anniversary!)"
"My friends and I love the room. It was so specious and very close to the Fair which it was our destination. I would gladly stay again in the same place without any doubt!!!"
