If you like quiet time surrounded by flowers and greenery, then make a stop at Aoba Park located 9.5 mi (15.3 km) from the centre of Sapporo. Our travelers also like this walkable area for its restaurants. Want to stretch your legs some more? Head to Maeda Forest Park, located nearby.
"This hotel has comfortable beds, a great shower / bath combo, and a relaxing lobby space full of plants with a nice bar and jazz vibe going. It is also right next door to the tower and a convenient entry to the underground (through the Don Guri pastry shop) that takes to you to Aurora town, Poletown, and even all the way to the main station or Susukino via underground walkways. You are right next to Odori station as well, the main intersection of all the underground subway trains. Highly recommended!"
"Pro: entrance to Tanukikoji, friendly staff, quiet room, good breakfast, free coffee/choc/lemonade/corn soup
Cons: decent public bath but not mineral water, blanket a bit dirty when checkin."
"We had a lovely stay here. The hotel is quiet despite being in the heart of the city. The beds were comfortable and room very clean. Staff were lovely. The hotel provides access to tea/coffee and bathroom amenities at the front desk and so you always have everything that you need. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Odori Park and the train station which makes it very convenient. An excellent stay."
"Comfortable stay for 2 nights at Gardens Cabin in the deluxe capsule. Comfortable bed and well designed capsule. The temperature was rather overly warm for me and there’s no way of adjusting this so just be aware. Breakfast was decent, otherwise the attached 7-11 is very convenient. Overall it was a good budget option for Sapporo. Excellent location."
"I stayed 4 nights here, and i had no complaints. Great facility with nearby retails that i appreciated a lot. My room was pretty big with both bathtub and shower stall in westernized fashion. "
"Rooms were clean, comfortable and quite spacious for Japan rooms. My family enjoyed using the gym for early morning workouts and our friends made good us of the hotel washing machines. Having a separate elevator to get to the lobby and the hotel rooms was at times bothersome, since it took longer, but I appreciated the safety and protection for hotel guests. The hotel location was convenient—close to subway, lots of shopping and assorted eateries available in walking distance! "
"It's on the quieter side of JR Sapporo station, it's about 4 min walk (without luggages) from station to the hotel. Staff are all very nice and helpful. Will come back to stay when I revisit Sapporo."
"Yuen Sapporo was such a peaceful and grounding part of our Hokkaido journey. The design is minimalist but deeply thoughtful, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comfort. The onsen experience was a dream, especially after long days of exploring. The staff were kind, professional, and quietly attentive. If you're into clean lines, warm wood, and a sense of calm, this place is for you. I’d absolutely stay here again next time I’m in Sapporo."
"First time in Sapporo with family of 4. Great location as it’s close to lots of restaurants. The rooms were very spacious as well. Also multiple convenience store like Lawson & Seico Mart around the corners. There is also a small grocery store near by and a laundry place close by to do laundry if needed.
Only down side was the temperature outside was so hot (32-42 degrees Celsius) and the AC can only set to a max of 20 degrees Celsius which was hard to sleep. Good thing the next day we asked the staff to check the AC, but there was nothing they can do and offer us a fan which helped a lot as it would help circulate the air in the room. "
"Granbell is a hidden gem; great value for the money; access to a small fitness room and onsen spa bath on top floor is also a plus.
We would stay there again;
"
"We both really liked the hotel restaurant! It was very easy to book and to eat at, though arrows indicating what direction to move in at the buffet might be helpful in the future."
"The best hotel Ive stayed at during my time in Japan. The bed was comfortable, the service was excellent. Best sleep Ive had in Japan! The bathroom in my room was only a shower, but they have a shared bath in the lower level. Being directly between Odori Park and the Factory shopping center made the location immensely walkable!"
