"This is a 1985 small travel trailer.. We expected that.. But, there was no toilet or "private bathroom in unit", refrigerator, WIFI.. Or any other conveniences.. The bathroom and working kitchen are up the road.. "In the big house". Although advertised as "in the unit" We held our toileting all night.. We didn't want to walk in the dark to the big house.. The WIFI belonged to a guy that lives in the back but, it hits for.. Nothing.. "

We arrived just as the lunch service was being checked out a little early but we had made good progress on the motorway. A cursory here is your room key was followed by did you get my email, no, Oh the restaurant is closed...

"I have stayed at this hotel several times and I have never found a speck of dust or a marked or unclean surface. I have always enjoyed a good undisturbed sleep. The staff are very helpful and even uncorked some wine for me. Its location is fantastic, just off the n20/a20. Free parking and free strong Wi-Fi. It is next to a retail park , cheap fuel available at carrefour. There are several fast food restaurants nearby. It’s a real bargain "

"This was a great experience, the Chateau is huge and the walls are covered with artifacts from several eras gone by. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dinning room with history in every nook and cranny. Breakfast was delicious, with numerous pastries made in house, along with artisan jam and toast, yogurt, hot coffee and orange juice, and fruit salad.
Our room was accessible through a hidden door behind a book case and was equally full of history. It had two comfortable arm chairs for reading, wooden window coverings to block out the light and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had both a stand alone soaker tub and a shower, with plenty of hot water and good pressure.
Our host Ivo is also the owner and an author and gave excellent recommendations for local dining. We really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing the history of the Chateau.
Saint-Chartier is definitely off the beaten path, but if you are looking for history and really unique experience, I'd highly recommend it. "
"The hotel was in an ideal location for us so very convenient. Its a common place for truckers to stop overnight. If the restaurant is closed there is a supermarket 8 mins drive or a pizza vending machine 3 minutes drive. Friendly staff. No vegetarian options tho and the walls very thin in the cabins (not ideal if youre travelling with a child and theres a couple next door🙈). The shutters are fab, leave the room pitch black at any hour."

"We booked the wrong dates and tried to change. Hotels.com staff couldn’t change the booking as no one at the hotel spoke English. We tried via email and never got a response, so asked our French Airbnb hosts to call, hotel refused to do anything over the phone and said they would reply to our email.
Never heard from them. Terrible customer service avoid like the plague "
