"The owner was was very kind, friendly, and accommodating and had a cute gift shop. She also made a wonderful breakfast that started out with a baked apple! The yard and house were decorated very nicely for the holidays, complete with music to add to the ambiance. The room had everything we needed and included an amazing copper bath tub that was wonderful to soak in. Overall it was a great place to sleep and relax with much more character than a hotel room could ever have. "

"This hotel must have been premier in it's time but it is in pretty tough shape. Needs a lot of tender loving care. The pool is not available, the outside areas are overgrown and need weeding, the interior is very dated with old carpet. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Wish someone could make a major investment to make this place magical again."

"I loved that it's right on the water with a ton of docks, a cool firepit and several grills. Sitting on the deck is so peaceful watching the fishing boats and birds. The free coffee, tea and the amazing scones are such a special treat.
The only thing is we had a spider in our bed, and there is literally nowhere to put any toiletries in the bathroom. A small shelf added to each bathroom would be ideal."

"This property is clean and pleasant. It is not “fancy”, but it is a great place to use as a base for exploring Rice Lake or taking a travel break and getting a good night’s sleep."
"The room was comfortable/tastefully decorated. Their website stated that breakfast was provided. In checking in, I was told that they are no longer providing breakfast. The ice machine is not working but if you ask, a bag of ice will be provided.
The cleanliness could be improved. I wiped a spill off from the bathroom floor and the tissue was black. There were also black areas on the edges of the shower curtain as if a mechanic with greasy hands had handled it. I wiped off a spot of dried blood from the wall where the toilet paper was hanging. The property could certainly use some TLC. I'm thankful to have been able to stay there seeing that everything in Ladysmith was booked up."
