"Staff was very friendly and helpful; had trouble with expedia getting the specific accommodations we wanted but hotel staff changed to better situation once we arrived; comfortable atmosphere; nice pool and patio area; Guatemalan dishes in restaurant were great, other food less so. Very close to the various amusement parks. Overall very pleased and would recommend"

"We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Zafra. It’s located very close to Xocomil, where we went on Saturday. The included breakfast was good. We would do it again. "

"Jamás vuelvo a utilizar expedia, me estafaron me cobraron alrededor de 135 dólares por una habitación que valía 20 dólares, eso me di cuenta que le cobraban a las personas que llegaron sin ninguna reservación, para llegar al hotel una carretera malísima y peligrosa, el lugar sucio, instalaciones viejas, ni las duchas servían, las personas que se quedan ahí son las que llegan a trabajar al mercado, no es por menospreciar pero no era un lugar para descansar con la familia, es para viajeros de...

"Absolutely lovely hotel very near the city center! I was only here 1 night but it was perfect and would have been very happy to have been able to stay longer. The room was huge, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the shower worked well, the outdoor space was great - I couldn't have asked for anything more. "

"Internet worked great, excellent shower, good breakfast, water available all the time, fabulous service. At elevation, climbing up the stairs to the fifth floor was honestly a challenge, but worth it."

"We spent one night here before a trek and appreciated how quiet and comfortable the hotel was. The room was basic but had absolutely everything we needed and there were nice outdoor areas to sit and relax as well. "

"This hotel is listed as recommended for families but it is completely inappropriate for families. Our room was right over a main road and we can hear noise from the traffic from the passing cars and trucks all night long and partially between 8-11pm. There is a window between the bathroom and the bedroom so the light needs to remain off in the middle of the night and there are two windows from our room to the hallway so anyone in the hallway can see shadows and lights in our room and the lights...

Hotel Boutique Casa Morasan
10/10 Excellent
"Hotel Boutique Casa Morasan is a delightful colonial style home converted to a wonderful hotel. The staff was highly responsive and engaging. The room represents a traditional Guatemalan style with charming accents that reflect the heritage of the family, the building, and the city. the room features are updated and well kept while still reflecting historic authenticity(light switches). This is not your roadside corporate hotel, thank goodness.
The location is a block off the square which allows the noise, that exists in every Guatemalan square, to be held at a distance but as a guest, you still have easy access.
The hotel is filled with antiques and pieces of Guatemalan history. Beyond visiting Xela(go see the theater), be sure to spend some time looking around the hotel. An onsight restaurant provides a wonderful breakfast, a European-Guatemalan lunch adn dinner menu, and a quiet bar.
For tall guests, most of the beds have foot boards so your feet cannot hang over the end of the bed. It's part of the experience. "

"Awesome experience! Easy off-street, gated parking. Large apartments, super comfortable, and all the water is drinkable! And Gilda was amazing. Whatever they pay her, it’s not enough! "
"The place didn’t have a setup account for expedia payments and couldn’t stay at the place which was empty at a very shady location. Such inconvenient to arrive and leave at night time to find another place to stay. "
