"This place was so relaxing and comfortable for the one night stay we did. The resturant was amazing and the only issue we had was some loud guests late night especially as this is a very quite and calm place. "

"Welcome to the sleepy town of Luneburg. The room was very homey with a/c. This hotel is in a perfect location to go exploring on foot. The selection for breakfast has many good choices. I had the best schnitzel in the restaurant on this trip to Germany. Thankfully this charming town wasn’t destroyed by the war. "

"The location is great cute little shops in the area, also on street parking is not hard to find. Walkable and rooms are clean and good size. The staff is wonderful, they were very accomodative and excellent service. Highly recommended would be back if I’m in Hamburg again, also this location is even better than the location they have in Hamburg downtown although is on the outskirts. "

"Out in the countryside, Not many people! The spa was a sauna... Not much of spa for a Nordic person. Used to have massage but not any longer. Spa would be bath possibilities... great bar and restaurant. "

"Die Klimaanlage war ausgefallen und unser Zimmer hatte eine Raumtemperatur von 28*C. Man erklärte uns, dass das fehlende Bauteil fehle und nur schwer beschaffbar ist. Ohne große Diskussion hat man uns als Ausgleich ein kostenfreies Getränk an der Bar angeboten. Das fanden wir korrekt und respektvoll. Überhaupt waren alle Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sehr sehr freundlich. Da fühlte man sich wirklich als Gast und herzlich willkommen. "

"We arrived at 5:15 and there wasn’t anyone to check us in. The property description said the reception would be staffed. We had the get a construction worker to call the number that was on the door. The property was under construction. It was very noisy when we arrived. The rooftop terrace was not finished. The rooms had very basic amenities. When we asked for soap to wash our hands in the bathroom, we were told there was no soap. Very unsanitary. In the pictures, coffee and tea packets were shown but none were in our room. There were no hangers in the closet, and no trash can in the bathroom. Also, please make a note that rooms do not have air conditioning. But even though the description says a no smoking premises, people were smoking near the door and the smell carried down the hallway. I would not stay here again."

"I am not sure why this is called a sport hotel. There is a weird gym, but no pool or other options for fitness. Breakfast was nice. Reservations communication and service need to be improved."

"Der Aufenhalt war insgesamt gut, aber als wir in Eingangsbereich warten mussten, lief ununterbrochen der Fernsehsender MTv Musik. mir ist nicht bekannt wie das Durchschnittsalter ihrer Gäste ist, aber diese Musikclips sind wohl nur für unter 20 jährige gut. Warum läuft da nicht z.b. ein Nachrichtensender, das wäre für alle interessant"

"Our recent stay at Hotel zum Halbmond was a disappointment from the moment we walked through the door. Despite confirming twice that dogs were welcome—both over the phone and as advertised on their website—we were met with immediate hostility upon arrival. The staff member’s first words were, “I can’t have this dog here,” followed by a lengthy lecture on all the potential problems our dog might cause. It was clear that our dog was not as welcome as we had been led to believe. When we suggested canceling our stay and receiving a refund, the staff member hesitated, clearly more concerned about losing our payment than providing good service. Reluctantly, he showed us to our room, continuing to complain and reiterate his earlier concerns. His attitude was anything but welcoming, and it was clear that hospitality was not his strong suit. To make matters worse, the hotel itself was far from what we expected. The entrance area looked like a construction site, messy and uninviting—nothing like the images shown on their website. We quickly decided that this was not a place we wanted to spend even one night. Thankfully, Hotel.com website was quick to assist us in securing a refund, and we left without further issue. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Hotel zum Halbmond to anyone, especially those traveling with pets. Our advice to the hotel: improve your communication, learn what hospitality really means, and perhaps clean up the place a bit while you’re at it."
