"An old hotel, but very updated. Our TV had different options for Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc. the room was nice and big, great for 2 people. And it was a 2 minute walk from Nabari Station. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The only problem we noticed was in the light there were some cobwebs. We did see a spider on the wall as well. Other than that, everything was fine!"

"Quiet little Inn at the top of the town. Easy to access the Mt Wakakusa walk and about a 30 minute walk into the towns centre! We loved seeing the deer right outside our window."

"What a delightful spot to get away from big city vibes and get close to nature in Nara Park! Incredible staff that even let me check in early as my room was ready. Everything you need at an affordable price with a great atmosphere. "

"Great adventure, kids liked it. Room is not perfect, and best for 2-3 people though 4-5 can sleep. We had a good stay. Staff is very friendly and accomodating, 5 stars for them. "

"Great spot for staying a night or two directly in the Nara Park. This allowed us to get up early and have basically the whole park to ourselves before the tourist groups arrive. Would definititely recommend it!

"Wonderful experience. Warm, friendly service. Beautiful scenery. Delicious Japanses-Western fusion cusine. There are inclusive board games, night-ride to mountain tops, and roof-top bath. We had so much fun!"

"I chose this ryokan since it was the only reasonably priced one in the Nara area. It has a beautiful garden just outside our room and the room itself was comfortable and large. The only downside to the place was the strong smell in the room and the cockroach that I had to kill as it crawled across the room."

"The staff were so friendly and welcoming! I was solo travelling and spoke very little Japanese and they were very accommodating! The breakfast was yummy with a beautiful view of the gardens, one of the ladies explained everything on the plate to me, which was helpful. The lady at the front desk also offered me a charger which I needed which was great. "

"Lovely place with the kindest staff and a beautiful onsen. My room had the sauna and there was a lot of traffic noise from the main road so maybe not ideal for light sleepers but overall a great stay. "

"This was by far our most favourite place to stay. We had the green hills with deer on them as our view. Space between our bed and daughters. Beautiful lay out. Amazing staff. Very good shower. Extremely comfortable sleep. I enjoyed a beer and some cake on the cafe terrace and was transformed to another peaceful world. Just can not recommend this place more. "
"Easily one of, if not the nicest hotels I've stayed in, to the point where i was looking for hidden costs for things because of how cheap it was to book. Thankfully, there wasn't any, and it is just an awesome hotel. Highly recommend if you are planning on staying in Nara."
"We had the 4 twin bed room. It has its own bathroom, shower room, and a large U-shaped lounge area. Overall the room was fantastic, spacious and clean. The location was great too, close to (one of the two) train station and the start of the Nara park.
Would definitely stay there again "
"This was a very cute property near to the central shopping area of Nara and to Nara Park. The major tourist attractions are in easy walking distance, and of course I loved the easy access to all the restaurants and shopping.
The included breakfast is a brick toast with a choice of butter, jam, red bean, or egg salad, with a salad and coffee. It's a very tasty breakfast but not especially heavy."
"The facilities were very modern and clean, and the staff was very attentive and helpful. We will certainly decide to stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara again in the future."
"This property was self-checkin which was very convenient for us because we arrived from Kyoto fairly late at night. Although we were unable to leave our backpacks at the hotel (there was no onsight staff available for security), we conveniently stored all of bags at the station nearby for only a few US dollars while we walked around town and visited all the sites.
Also, checkin and checkout was very easy using a pin provided by the host after we uploaded our travel documents to access the building and to enter the room. We had no trouble locating the property and letting ourselves inside both the building and our room. Also, this was the only location that provided complimentary hot coffee - all other places we stayed offered complimentary tea, which is nice, but we certainly enjoyed a cup of hot coffee for variety."
"If you’re looking for a Ryokan experience with the nicest staff, this is your place. Central to most sites and k-Nara station. We stayed on night in a traditional room and had a great experience "
"We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Nara and overall had a great experience. Although the room was quite small, it was very clean and well-maintained. The toiletries provided were of high quality and felt great to use.
The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Even though we had some language barriers, they went out of their way to assist us and used translation apps to communicate clearly. We also booked an in-room massage through the front desk — the masseur was an older gentleman with very strong hands, and the massage was incredibly relaxing. It was also reasonably priced at just 1,000 yen per 10 minutes.
Breakfast was simple but tasty and convenient, perfect for travelers heading out early. The location is excellent — just steps from the train station exit, which made getting around super easy.
The only downside was a slight smell of smoke in the hallway, likely from some guests smoking in their rooms. But aside from that, the hotel provided great value for money and we would definitely recommend it for a short stay in Nara!"
"The hotel was amazing, the room is surprisingly spacious, even though it looks small, your big luggage can be stored under your bed (if you're not bringing your partner). The staffs were friendly and kind, despite being some language barrier. Breakfast were good too, they always changed them everyday. And the area was extremely calm and quiet, it's more like a local area. The hotel was also a bit brand new, maybe 2 years old? Easily walkable to the station. And some nearby some shops.
I would definitely stay again in the future."
